The Association ASTRICO NORD-EST includes producers of yarn, knitwear, clothing and from other fields (furniture, packages) from the North-Eastern development region of Romania.
The main exponent of the association is RIFIL SA Savinesti, the most important manufacturer of acrylic yarn in the European Union.
Our members produce per year more than 20000 tons of yarn of various sorts and compositions and circa 1 million knitwear items made by flat and circular knitting machines, using also other equipment for assembling, ironing and finishing.
The raw material used consists mainly of the following sorts: wool-type yarns and cotton-type yarns in various compositions (100% acryl, mix of wool/acryl, mix of cotton/acryl etc.), of densities between Nm 40/1 and Nm 3.
In the manufacturing and marketing units of the association work over 1825 employees and in 2022 the aggregated turnover was of over RON 830 million (EUR 168 million).
Our products are exported on the European market (French, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, UK, Slovenia etc.) but also in the USA and other American and Asian countries.
The capital of the members of our association is fully private and our association is managed by a Board of Directors appointed by the General Assembly of the members.
Our companies have made substantial investments in new technologies and the result is a competitive price-quality ratio for the products. Moreover, we employ a settle and highly qualified personnel.
Besides the especially competitive technologic aspect, we are concerned in creating new products, following the market trends.
To this effect, ASTRICO NORD-EST has developed projects in collaboration with specialized designers in order to promote the raw materials and knitwear produced by the members of the group.
In the year 2013 ASTRICO NORD-EST founded its own facility of sampling and collection creation, with the assistance of the knitting machine manufacturer SHIMA –SEIKI .
In the year 2010 ASTRICO NORD-EST launched and signed a partnership with The North-East Regional Development Agency, The Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" Iasi – Faculty of Textile, Leather and Industrial Management, The National Research&Development Institute for Textiles and Leather and Inno Consult SRL- Bucharest, in order to create a "textile cluster" in the North-Eastern region. Thus, the Textile Cluster Astrico Nord-Est was created.
